Transfers: Ibrahimovic To Stay at PSG

Jun 12, 2015 by Alex Baker

Despite persistent rumors linking him with a return to AC Milan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic insists he’s happy in Paris and will remain with Paris Saint-Germain. However the 33-year-old, who is on national team as Sweden prepare to face Montenegro, admitted he’d been in contact with Milan CEO Adriano Galliani and left the door open to the possibility by throwing the old “You never know what will happen in football” line out to reporters.

PSG are apparently readying a spectacular bid to eventually replace Zlatan with Cristiano Ronaldo. While Ronaldo is unlikely to leave Real Madrid this summer, L’Equipe reports that PSG will move for the striker ahead of the 2016-2017 season. Were the Swede actually to return to Milan this summer, that process could become accelerated.

Arsenal continue to be linked with Jackson Martinez. This week the agent of the Porto striker, who is also on Manchester United, said the 28-year-old’s future was already decided and he was on the verge of a $38 Million move to an unnamed “big European club.”

Meanwhile Man United have officially completed the signing of Memphis Depay. The Netherlands attackers joined the Red Devils on a four-year contract for a fee of $48 Million. United are also believed to be readying a bid for Tottenham striker Harry Kane. While the North London outfit insists the 21-year-old isn’t for sale, United are rumored to be ready to bid above $75 Million for Kane.

Liverpool have turned down a $46 Million bid for Raheem Sterling from Manchester City. Raheem has gone public with his desire to leave the Anfield outfit but the club are determined to hold onto him and it will reportedly take an offer upwards of $75 million to prise the 20-year-old away.

Liverpool are looking to beat Chelsea out in the signing of Monaco striker Radamel Falcao. Falcao endured a dismal season on loan at United and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho said he wanted to “help” the striker return to his best form. Liverpool are hoping to help themselves to his signature in order to boost an attack that’s suffered since Luis Suarez’s departure.

Juventus striker Carlos Tevez is reportedly a target for Atletico Madrid. With the La Liga outfit likely to lose either Mario Mandzukic or Antoine Griezmann this summer, signing El Apache would be major coup as Atleti look to revitalize their attack and again challenge the Barcelona/Real Madrid hegemony next season.

Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez is reportedly the target of an $11 Million bid from Inter Milan. The Man United striker spent the season on loan at Real Madrid and made a good account of himself as an impact sub and filling in during Karim Benzema’s absence due to injury.

Finally, Barça club legend Xavi Hernandez was officially unveiled by his new club Al Sadd this week. The two-time treble winner signed a two-year contract with the Qatari outfit and will wear the No. 6 jersey.
