Inter Milan Reportedly Inquire About Harry Kane

Dec 17, 2015 by Alex Baker

The Evening Standard has reported that Serie A leaders Internazionale have made quiet inquiries about the availability of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane.

Kane has 13 goals in 21 appearances for Spurs this season, but he has shown no desire to leave White Hart Lane. But should Kane and Tottenham eventually decide to part ways, it’s believed that the club would prefer to sell him abroad, rather than to another Premier League outfit.

Inter are currently top of the Serie A standings with a four-point lead over second-place Fiorentina. After several seasons out in the wilderness, Inter are plotting a return to the top of Italian and European football. Currently among the favorites to win this season’s Scudetto, Inter also look likely to return to Champions League action next season.

Inter owes much of its success this season to defensive solidity – they’ve lost just twice in 16 matches in the current campaign. The team’s current top strikers, Mauro Icardi and the on-loan Stevan Jovetic, are both yet to crack double digits in the scoring column this season.

If the Nerrazzuri are to return to the same heights that saw them lift the Champions League trophy under Jose Mourinho in 2010, they will need to bolster their squad. A hot, up-and-coming striker like Kane would certainly fit the bill, were he to become available.

Inter will be back in action this weekend when they welcome Lazio to the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.
