This month, ESPN is launching a morning version of SportsCenter cleverly named SportsCenter: AM to compete with the likes of Good Morning America and The Today Show. The news program will run from 7am - 10pm ET daily and will cover highlights and sports updates from the previous night’s games. Deadline
Disney XD orders a new sci-fi adventure comedy to series called MECH-X4. The live-action adventure show will center on Ryan, a high school freshman who has technopathy – the unique ability to control technology with his mind. A genius-in-hiding has built MECH-X4, a 120-foot robot, to defend their town against monsters descending on the city. It’s up to Ryan, his older brother and his two best friends to save the town – and the world – from being destroyed. Deadline
CNN: Race For The White House is set to premiere on March 6. The Kevin Spacey-produced and narrated six-part series focusing on the dirty tricks and schemes used over the years by candidates on their quest to the Oval Office. In order to avoid confusion with Spacey’s devious Frank Underwood character in House of Cards, he uses his normal, non-southern voice for this project. CNN
It’s hard to believe there was another version of the Game of Thrones pilot we’ll probably never see – and for good reason. Showrunners D. B. Weiss and David Benioff as well as writer Craig Mazin recently said in a new interview the original pilot was such a failure they had to recast and reshoot 90% of the footage. Mazin remembers seeing the new pilot, which is what went to air, and telling Weiss and Benioff they pulled off the “biggest rescue in Hollywood history.” Vanity Fair
Weird Al Yankovic has been cast as the voice of Milo Murphy in Disney XD’s new animated show Milo Murphy’s Law. The show comes from Phineas and Ferb creators and follows the (fictional) great-great-great-great grandson of the Murphy’s Law namesake, who always tries to make the best out of the cards he’s been dealt. The cast lineup also includes Vanessa Williams, Christian Slater, Sarah Chalke, and Sabrina Carpenter. Deadline
