Sporting events don’t get any bigger than Saturday’s meeting between FC Barcelona and Real Madrid, as the longtime rivals battle it out for the 2016/17 La Liga title. FC Barcelona sits in second place with 27 points behind Real Madrid’s 33 and you will be able to watch the match at 10:15 EST on beIN Sports.
Some of the world’s best players will be a part of this game, any one of whom can win it with a moment of inspiration. With Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez representing FC Barcelona while Cristiano Ronaldo, Isco and Benzema represent Los Merengues it is likely to be a spectacular show in Camp Nou Stadium.
The Catalans have been in a rut lately, with draws in their last two outings against Real Sociedad (1-1) and Malaga (0-0). Luis Enrique and his staff are waiting for the recovery of Andres Iniesta, who was ruled out for six weeks in late October after suffering knee ligament damage against Valencia, and Samuel Umtiti and Jeremy Mathieu, who have each been sidelined with muscular injuries.
Meanwhile, Los Merengues, led by the fantastic Cristiano Ronaldo, scored a brace in the 5th and 18th minutes last Saturday to win 2-0 against Sporting Gijon at The Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.
Los Blancos have been unlucky with injuries this season: Welsh superstar Gareth Bale suffered an ankle dislocation against Sporting Lisbon last week, while polyfunctional player Toni Kroos will also miss El Clasico owing to a broken metatarsal.
Also on the injury list is substitute Alvaro Morata and defensive midfielder Casemiro.
Predicted Starting Lineups
Barcelona: Ter Stegen; Roberto, Pique, Mascherano, Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Gomes; Neymar, Suarez, Messi.
Real Madrid: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo; Kovacic, Modric, Isco; Vasquez, Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema.
