Yesterday in baseball, the Yankees walked off on the Rangers for the second game in a row, this time with Chase Headley scampering home on a passed ball for a 2-1 victory; Avisail Garcia scored twice and drove in a run in the White Sox’ 6-5 win over the Twins; Kenta Maeda pitched 6 innings of 1-run ball, giving up just 3 hits and 2 walks, while fanning 6 to lead the Dodgers past the Brewers 8-1; Danny Espinosa hit a grand slam and a 3-run homer as the Nationals pounded the Reds 13-4; Carlos Carrasco led the Indians to their 13th win a row by striking 14 in 7 and a third, while surrendering just 1 run on 3 hits; the Mets rallied for 3 in the 7th, scoring the tying and go-ahead runs on a fielder’s choice, to overtake the Cubs 4-3; Chase d’Arnaud scored a run and drove in a pair as the Braves topped the Marlins 8-5; the Tigers scored 8 runs in the top of the 9th, with Cameron Maybin scoring the first run of the rally, and driving in the last, to break the hearts of the Rays 10-7; Kendrys Morales had a pair of doubles, a homer, and 2 RBI in the Royals 4-2 win over the Cardinals; Madison Bumgarner went 1-for-4 as he became the first pitcher to DH for himself in 40 years and Brandon Belt hit a 2-run double in the 3rd and a 2-run single in the 9th as the Giants doubled up on the A’s 12-6; and Hyun Soo Kim hit the Orioles record 56th homer for the month of June, but they fell short of the Mariners 5-3.
