NCAA on Sling TV: #2 North Carolina at #19 Louisville
The Tar Heels enjoyed a quiet week, playing just one game in which they decimated the Boston College Eagles 89-62 for their 12th straight win. BC managed to keep it close for about 5 minutes, trailing 24-23, before UNC scored 15 unanswered points to make the score 39-23. At that point it was just a matter of time. Brice Johnson led the way for Carolina, scoring 17 points, to go along with 11 rebounds and 3 steals. UNC is now 19-2 overall, and 8-0 in ACC play.
The Louisville Cardinals fell from #16 to #19 as a result of their worst game of the season, a thorough 63-47 dismantling at the hands of #11 Virginia on Saturday. The Cards shot a reasonable 4-of-11 from 3, but made just 12 of 38 from inside the arc, and made just 4 of 19 field goals attempts in the first half to fall behind 29-14. Louisville’s leading scorer this season, Damion Lee, was particularly ineffective, putting up a line of 6 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Louisville is 17-4, 6-2 in the ACC, but are just 1-3 against teams ranked in the top 25.
