NBA Playoffs on Sling TV: Hawks at Celtics
#4 Atlanta Hawks vs. #5 Boston Celtics, ATL leads series 3-2
(8pm ET Thursday, TNT)
With 3:27 remaining in the first half of Tuesday’s game, the Celtics’ Jonas Jerebko sank a pair of free throws to put Boston up 33-32, but in the waning minutes before the break, the Hawks caught fire, hitting on 6 of 7, including three 3-pointers by Kent Bazemore, to head into the locker room up 47-39. And the hot hand that put Atlanta on top continued to burn the Celtics (mix metaphors much?) in the third quarter, as the Hawks outscored the Celtics 42-23. The Celtics made 7 turnovers in the quarter, while the Hawks hit on 13 of 18 shots, including 5 of 9 from downtown. The fourth quarter was a mere formality.
On the night, the Hawks’ Mike Scott came off the bench to lead all scorers with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting, while Bazemore and Jeff Teague each had 16. For Boston, nobody really got going, as the Atlanta D held them to just 77 field goal attempts, of which they made just 29 (38%), and forced 20 turnovers, the second-most in a single game by any team this postseason.
Watch the Atlanta Hawks vs. Boston Celtics at 8pm ET Thursday on TNT.
