On Monday he allowed 2 runs over 7 innings, while striking out just 3, but settling for a no decision in a game the Rays lost 6-2 to the Royals. If he doesn’t start missing more bats, the law of averages is gonna catch up with him real fast.
As an average pitcher on a bad team, Ervin Santana is steadily racking up losses. In his 5 good starts, he’s given up 11 runs and has just 1 win to show for it, as the Twins scored just 8 runs in the four losses. Case in point: on Monday he faced the A’s, allowing 3 runs and scattering 7 hits and 2 walks over 7 innings, while striking out 5, and lost 3-2. If the Minnesota bats don’t come to life, it could be a looooonnng season for Santana.
