Freeform has announced their decision to end one of the staple shows, Switched At Birth, after season five. The show ended it’s fourth season in October. (Deadline)
A little-known show called The Walking Dead is getting a permanent theme park residence at Universal Studios Hollywood. A smaller-scale version of the attraction has graced the Universal Studios lot for Halloween before, but the full-time installation is said to be bigger and better with a mix of special effects, animatronics and live performers to provide the “most intense, realistic Walking Dead experience ever.” (The Hollywood Reporter)

AMC has signed on Jurassic Parks’ Sam Neill to star in a new Texas-based drama called The Son. Neill will play Eli, the patriarch of the McCullough family, who was kidnapped as a child and raised among the Comanches. He was born the day Texas became an independent Republic, scoring him the nickname “First Son of Texas.” The show follows him as he navigates the business world in which he uses brutal tactics he picked up while living with the Native Americans. Freeform is developing a series drama meant to pick up where the Sleeping Beauty fairytale left off. The new show, called After, is based off Rhiannon Thomas’ 2015 novel A Wicked Thing. The story follows Princess Aurora after she is kissed awake from a hundred-year slumber by a prince to discover her family is long dead and her kingdom has been taken away from her. (Deadline)
The late James Gandolfini’s HBO passion project has finally earned a new title along with a summer premiere slot. The project is an eight-part mini-series adaptation of Peter Moffat’s 2008 BBC drama called Criminal Justice and has received the new name of The Night of. This it the second series coming post-mortem from Gandolfini; HBO announced in January they will take on Big Dead Place, too. (The Hollywood Reporter)

Conan scores another big interview: The cast of Batman v Superman will sit down with the late-night talk show host after the premiere of the highly-anticipated film. Director Zack Snyder is set to be joined by stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Jesse Eisenberg, Laurence Fishbourne, Gal Gadot, Holly Hunter and Diane Lane. The film premieres March 25. WeTV has ordered eight hour-long episodes of a new docuseries called My Life Is A Telenovela. The series will follow several Latina actresses and actors through the rigorous process of auditioning for the same part in a real life telenovela being produced by Telemundo. (Deadline)
