Help With Sling TV On Chromecast

A few weeks ago, we let everyone know that Sling TV was coming soon to Chromecast. The response has been overwhelmingly enthusiastic, and our team has worked hard to launch a Chromecast-compatible app as soon as possible. Today, we are live!

Since the app is brand new, there are a few temporary limitations and known issues we want our customers to know about. I want to emphasize that we are aware of the below issues and our team is actively working on fixes. In the meantime, here’s a quick rundown of what you may encounter while using Sling TV on Chromecast:

• If you do not see the cast icon within your Sling TV app, please make sure you have updated to the current version of the app (Android version 4.6.0.336 and iOS version 4.2.0.298), force quit the app and reopen Sling TV.

• Some channels are not yet cast-enabled. For example, if you subscribe to a Sling International package or Extras, you will not be able to cast those channels. Currently, channels available for casting include most “Best of Live TV” + Extras, Sling Latino, as well as most transactional and subscription on-demand entertainment. We will continue to add on-demand titles to our library in the coming weeks. If your favorite channel or program is not cast-enabled at this time, you can alternatively log in to your account and watch Sling TV on any of our other supported devices.

• Sling TV on Chromecast does not currently support casting to Nexus Player, Nvidia Shield or Razer Forge; however, you can download the Sling TV app directly from the device’s Google Play store to access your Sling TV entertainment.

• Additionally, you may experience minor issues within the app. We are working diligently to improve connectivity, optimize features like fast-forward and rewind and streamline the casting load time. We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve Sling TV on Chromecast.
