The 2016 US Open at Oakmont (Saturday at 10am ET on FS1, 11am ET on FOX)
After multiple rain delays kept him from the first tee on Thursday at the US Open, Dustin Johnson had a ton of work to do on Friday. When he was finished, after 36 holes, he found himself tied atop the leaderboard.

On his first round Friday, Johnson became the only player at this year’s Oen to play a bogey-free opening round, shooting a 3-under par 67, with birdies on 6, 11 and 14. He would finally stumble on the first hole of his second round, taking a bogey 5, before playing playing 2-under the rest of the way, to finish at 69 for the round. After two rounds, Johnson sits at -4, tied with Andrew Landry in first place. Johnson, you may recall, took a 3-putt from 12 feet on the final hole of last year’s Open to lose the tournament by 1 stroke to Jordan Spieth.

Landry didn’t play much golf on Friday, as Thursday’s rain delays carried over to Friday, but tournament officials did find time for him to finish his opening round, which was suspended when he was -3 after 17, and about to make a putt for birdie on 18. On Friday he sank that putt for an opening round 66, and a share of the lead. But he would never get a chance to start his second round, having to wait, along with the likes of Lee Westwood, Spieth, Bubba Watson, Rickie Fowler, Rory McIlroy and Danny Willett, until Saturday morning.

In third place is Lee Westwood, who had a crazy day, shooting an opening round 67 that included 3 bogeys ,4 birdies, and an eagle on 14 with a beautiful iron from the fairway that bit the green and rolled back into the cup. Tied for fourth are Sergio Garcia, who shot a 5-birdie, 3-bogey 68 in Round 1, and then a 3-birdie, 3-bogey even par Round 2 that ended with a miraculous 50-foot putt to save par, good enough for -2, and Scott Piercy, who also shot 68 and 70.
