Monday April 11
The Detour: Former Daily Show correspondent Jason Jones and Justified’s Natalie Zea play a husband and wife with two children, who embark on the worst (i.e., most outrageously funny) road trip imaginable. But theirs is NOT the Griswold family, and this is not a show for impressionable young minds. It’s a premium-cable comedy on a basic-cable channel. (9pm & 9:30pm Monday, TBS)
MLB on ESPN - Miami Marlins at New York Mets: Wei-Yin Chen makes his second start of the season, coming of a disastrous debut with the Marlins in which he went five innings against the Tigers and gave up five runs on nine hits, but managed not to get the loss as the Fish fell in extra innings. On the hill for the Metropolitans is Matt “The Dark Knight” Harvey, who had himself a rocky start to the 2016 season, going five-and-two-thirds and giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks in an Opening Day loss to the World Champion Royals. (7pm Monday, ESPN)
Better Call Saul - Mike continues on his precisely planned-out mission as Chuck’s competency is called into question. Meanwhile, Jimmy must deal with a very personal problem.
Tuesday April 12
NBA on TNT - Thunder at Spurs, Grizzlies at Clippers: Having already locked up the two-seed and the three-seed in the West, the Spurs’ and Thunder’s primary objective will be to stay loose and not get hurt. Similarly, the Clippers are already locked in as the four-seed in the West, but the Grizzlies are trying to shake the Trail Blazers and make the five-seed in the playoffs theirs and theirs alone. (8:00 & 10:30pm Tuesday, TNT)
Separation Anxiety: Comedian Iliza Shlesinger hosts this new relationship game show, where each contestant’s knowledge regarding their significant other is put to the test with cash prizes on the line. (10pm Tuesday, TBS)
Wednesday April 13
NBA on ESPN - Fare Thee Well, Kobe (aka Jazz at Lakers): Kobe Bryant, one of the ten greatest basketball players in NBA history, plays his final game in front of a hometown crowd. It’s been a tough season for Bryant as he’s endured more than 60 losses, nagging injuries, a .353 field goal percentage, and the Swaggy P-Iggy Azelea-Nick Young idiocy, but it all ends here, and there won’t be a dry eye in the house. (10:30pm Wednesday, ESPN)
The Last Panthers: Inspired by notorious jewel thieves the Pink Panthers, The Last Panthers is a brooding crime drama centered on the shadowy business arrangement between gangsters and banksters. (10pm Wednesday, SundanceTV)
Thursday April 14
Democratic Debate: Live from the Brooklyn Navy Yard, the battle for New York begins! Who will prevail: born-in-Brooklyn Bernie Sanders or former NY Senator (and Broad City kween) Hillary Clinton? (9pm Thursday, CNN)
Vikings: As Ragnar and his men near Paris, they launch their boats with unique structures designed by Floki. Aethelwulf and Alfred arrive in Rome where honors are given by Pope Leo while King Ecbert struggles with an upset King Aelle. (10pm Thursday, History)
Friday April 15
Children’s Hospital: Only one episode left before the season seven finale; Wet Hot American Summer’s Michael Showalter guest-stars. (11pm Friday, Adult Swim)
Saturday April 16
NBA Playoffs on ESPN - First Round Action: The 82-game scrum is over, now the work begins as 16 teams battle it out for the NBA title. Who will come out on top? Will it be the defending champion Golden State Warriors or the San Antonio Spurs, the winningest second-best team in league history? Or, maybe it’s LeBron’s beleaguered Cavs. (5:30pm, 8pm & 10:30pm Saturday, ESPN)
Confirmation: Scandal star Kerry Washington leads a cast that includes Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson, The Wire’s Wendell Pierce, Greg Kinnear, and Modern Family’s Eric Stonestreet in a dramatization of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ 1991 nomination hearings. Washington portrays Anita Hill, whose accusations of sexual harassment against the future Justice resulted in the narrowest margin for approval in more than a century. (8pm Saturday, HBO)
Sunday April 17
NBA Playoffs on TNT - First Round Action: The NBA playoffs continue with more than seven hours of action from across the country. (5pm, 8pm & 10:30pm Saturday, TNT)
House of Darkness: A couple struggling to fix their marriage moves to a rural farmhouse, but dark forces threaten to tear them further apart. (8pm, LMN)
Vinyl: Season finale (9pm Sunday, HBO) If you had given us all day to predict where this season was going to end up, we would have never arrived at Richie Finestra agreeing to work a sting against the Mob – our guess would have had something to do with a hit record or something. Though we have had our ups and downs with Richie as a protagonist, this season has been good fun and we are eager to see what cliff the finale will dangle us off of, particularly considering the announcement that showrunner and co-creator Terrence Winter is leaving the show. (9pm ET Sunday, HBO)
Fear the Walking Dead: If you missed the season two premiere, catch up with Sling on-demand before an all-new episode of The Walking Dead’s sister series. The survivors aboard the Abigail are bound for San Diego if Alicia’s pirate boyfriend doesn’t seize their yacht first. (9pm Sunday, AMC)
Girls: In the two-part finale, Hannah runs into Tally after giving Principal Toby surprising news. Marnie has a dream that makes her wonder if she should work things out with Desi while Shoshanna tries to help Ray with his coffee business and Elijah challenges Dill on their relationship status. Then, Hannah prepares for a story slam with the help of Elijah and her mother as Marnie preps to go on tour with Desi. Shoshanna launches her business plan for Ray’s while Jessa and Adam have a huge blow out. (11pm & 11:30pm Sunday, HBO)
