College Game of The Week: #15 Texas A&M at #24 Ole Miss

Oct 20, 2015 by Sarah Moffatt

Most of the time it’s safe to assume when two ranked teams go head-to-head, the higher ranked team is going to win, but not this week: With #15 Texas A&M coming off their first loss of the season (to Alabama, 41-23) and Ole Miss coming off their second loss of the season (they lost to Florida in week 5) to unranked Memphis, there was no way we couldn’t choose #15 Texas A&M at #24 Ole Miss as our College Game of The Week. Plus, this is the only matchup in all of college football this week that includes two ranked teams, so… it was a no-brainer.

Texas A&M and Ole Miss have played seven times, and history is decidedly in A&M’s favor: the Rebels beat the Aggies in College... Read More

College Games Of The Week

Sep 17, 2015 by Sarah Moffatt

Every week, a tough decision has to be made: Which college game do we feature for our Game of The Week? Well, this week we are throwing the rulebook out the window and choosing TWO games to chat about – GASP! Can we do that?! Yes, yes we can.

Ole Miss at Alabama (9:15pm ET Saturday, ESPN)

We’ll start with the obvious choice: Ole Miss Rebels vs. Alabama Crimson Tide. It’s a #15 team going against a #2 team and both are currently undefeated. Besides fighting to keep their record pristine, this game is important for both teams due to their rocky history.

Last year, #11 Ole Miss upset #3 Alabama at home, 23-17. Ole Miss was trailing 17-10 halfway through the 4th quarter before they tied it with... Read More

College Game Of The Week: LSU at Mississippi State

In the South, three things happen in the months between September and January: Eat, Sleep, Football. Football is how weeks are marked; everything that happens between Saturdays (or the occasional off-putting Thursday) is just filler, especially when you’re preparing to play a rival. Such is the case for this week’s College Game Of The Week: LSU Tigers at Mississippi State Bulldogs.

What makes this matchup special is the win-loss record. LSU beat Mississippi State every meeting they had – until last year. LSU (8) lost at home 34-29, which means they are looking to return the favor this year.

Another factor in this match to consider is LSU’s lack of play this season. The Tigers' season opener against McNeese State was cancelled last... Read More

College Game Of The Week: Texas A&M vs. Arizona State

Sep 03, 2015 by Sarah Moffatt

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: football season. The 2015 NCAA football season kicks off September 3, just in time for the long Labor Day weekend, giving us time to recover from the madness, and the season’s first Game of the Week is Texas A&M University vs. Arizona State University in Houston, Texas.

While these two teams will be meeting for the first time on Saturday, head coaches Kevin Sumlin of A&M and Todd Graham of ASU have coached against each other before. From 2008 to 2010, Sumlin and Graham met as head coaches for the University of Houston and the University of Tulsa, respectively, in the USA Conference. More is at stake than just bragging rights, though, as both coaches hold similar winning records: Graham with 28-12... Read More
