MLB on Sling TV: New York, New York! If You Can Make It Here …

Three of the four games this week on Sling TV involve teams from ol' New York, and the Mets and Yankees are both are gunning to be king of the hill, top of the heap.
If your vagabond shoes never long to stray to New York, the only chance to avoid the Mets and Yankees is Wednesday when the Angels play the Astros, in what should be a great game. Houston rookie Lance McCullers Jr. looks like an ace in the making. And there’s this guy named Mike Trout who plays for Los Angeles who’s pretty decent, too.
But let’s take this back to New York, New York.
The Yankees face the Rangers on Monday and the White Sox on Sunday. Chicago is expected to start Jeff Samardzija against Masahiro Tanaka but it seems highly likely that Samardzija will be traded by then. The Rangers might look different soon, too, with all the wheeling and dealing happening as the trade deadline approaches. And for that matter, so might the the Bronx Bombers, who are A-number one in the A.L. East.
“I’m open-minded to everything, anything,” Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman said. “I’ve been doing this for a long time and I do recognize that prospects are (suspect). So I don’t think anybody should be untouchable. I’ve always maintained that some guys are harder to move than others. I won’t say that I’m conservative GM; I’m a very aggressive GM. It would be hard for me to do anything there, but I’m going to be open-minded to it.”
Over in Queens, the Mets are still trailing the top-of-the-list Nationals in the N.L. East but can make up some ground because that’s who they face Sunday in what should be a potent pitching matchup between Jordan Zimmermann and Mets’ rookie Noah Syndergaard, another ace-in-the-making.
The Mets' pitching has been stellar, but their problem is at the plate.
“They’ve been put on notice it’s time to pick it up,” Mets manager Terry Collins said.
Part of the solution has been found—they hope—in rookie outfielder Michael Conforto. But they also traded for Kelly Johnson and Juan Uribe, and they might not be done yet.
“If you want to stay in the lineup, you’ve got to start hitting,” Collins said. “We’ve played great. Our pitching has been good. We’ve caught the baseball. We’ve got to start scoring some runs. We’re getting beat because we’re not scoring. Our pitching is good enough to keep us in any game. … I’ll tell you what: Whoever is swinging the bat is going to play. It’s about scoring some runs right now.”
