In the world of baseball last night, we saw Prince Fielder and Rougned Odor hit solo homers to help power the Rangers past the Astros 5-3; the DJ LeMahieu doubled and homered, and drove in 3 runs as the Rockies beat the Pirates 11-5; Brett Gardner went 3-for-4 with 2 runs scored as the Yankees swept the Angels with a 6-3 win; the Orioles’ Chris Davis homered in the 7th to tie the game and then hit a sac fly in the 9th to drive in the winning run of a 6-5 victory over the Blue Jays; Bengie Molina’s bases-loaded single in the 8th was the difference in the Cardinals’ 3-2 win over the Reds; Melky Cabrera’s 2-run double in the first gave the White Sox a lead they would never relinquish, as they defeat the Nationals 3-1; Bartolo Colon scattered 8 hits over 7 innings of 1-run ball as the Mets beat the Brewers 5-2; Marcell Ozuna went 4-for-5 with RBI in three different innings as the Marlins beat up on Twins 10-3; Robinson Cano homered twice for the Mariners, but it was not enough, as they fell to the Indians 5-3; and Ichiro Suzuki is now 27 hits shy of 3,000.
