College Bowl Games on Sling: A Week of Action, Including Navy Looking to End Season on a High Note
Show of hands – who wants to watch college bowl games for six days in a row? Well, you’re in luck, because Sling has at least one every day from Monday through Saturday, and if you’re not hung up on travelling to see family for Christmas, we’ve got 3 games on Friday.
Louisiana Tech (8-5) vs #25 Navy (9-3)

The Louisiana Tech Bulldogs finished their regular season with a 58-44 loss to Western Kentucky. Tech would take the lead 41-38 early in the second half on a 1-yard TD run by Kameron McKnight, but WKU responded with a field goal, and then took the lead less than 2 minutes later on a 15-yard run by Anthony Wales, who would put the game well out of reach with another TD run, this one of 13 yards, to make it 58-44 with less than a minute to play. Tech QB Ryan Higgins connected on 37 of 52 for 502 yards and 3 TDs, but also had an interception and was sacked 5 times, while his team could get nothing going on the ground, amassing 5 yards on 22 carries. Even Jarred Craft, who led the team in rushing with 1,011 yards and 9 TDs on 174 carries, was held in check, going just 14 yards in 5 carries. On the season, Higgins has completed 300 of 456 for 4,208 yards and 37 TDs, against just 8 INTs, while leading the Bulldogs to 40.9 ppg, 12th-most in the nation.
Navy lost their regular season finale against Army 21-17, ending a streak of 14 consecutive wins over their rivals, as the Midshipmen were without their starting quarterback Will Worth, who suffered a broken foot in the team’s loss to Temple in the American Athletic Conference title game. Zack Abey filled in for Worth, completing 6 of 10 passes for 89 yards, and 2 interceptions, and rushed for 73 yards and 2 TDs on 19 carries. Navy’s Shawn White fumbled on the first drive of the game, with Army taking over on the 34 yard line, and marching 66 yards for the touchdown. Navy would take the lead 17-14 early in the 4th, but Army responded with an 80-yard drive, capped by Ahmad Bradshaw’s 9-yard TD run. Worth had been Navy’s deadliest weapon, passing for 1,397 yards and 8 touchdowns, and rushing for another 1,196 yards and a nation-leading 25 touchdowns. Navy just loves to pound away with their ground game, as four other guys ran for 400+ yards, and the team led the country with 54 rushing TDs, and were second with 3,930 yards rushing. In his college career, Abey has completed 13 of 23 for 193 yards, no touchdowns and 4 interceptions – hopefully the time off will give him a chance to get better prepared.
