#17 Western Michigan Broncos (9-0) vs Kent State Flashes (3-6)
7:30pm ET Tuesday on ESPN2

The Western Michigan Broncos racked up another big win against another lowly opponent, beating the Ball State Cardinals 52-20, as QB Zach Terrell completed 23 of 34 passes for 367 yards and 3 TDs, with wide receiver Corey Davos hauling in 12 of those passes for 272 yards and all 3 touchdowns. Kent State got off to a bad start, their first drive ending with Jack Milas (20 of 38, 199 yards, 1 TD) throwing a pick-6, and things would just get worse. The Broncos have a high-octane offense, scoring 45.2 points per game, as Davis’ big day put the senior over 1,000 yards for the third straight season, Terrell is now up to 23 touchdowns and just 1 interception, and running back Jarvion Franklin has 1,018 yards and 9 TDs on just 174 carries. The defense ain’t too shabby, either, allowing just 19.3 per game, but whether you’re ogling their offense or defense, it’s important to remember they’ve only played two teams from the power conferences: 4-5 Northwestern and 3-6 Illinois.

After quarterbacks Justin Agner and Mylik Mitchell got hurt earlier this year, Kent State head coach Paul Haynes turned to junior running back/wide receiver Nick Holley to take over the offense. Though Holley hadn’t played QB since high school, he’s led the team to a 2-3 record while completing 55 of 106 for 668 yards and 3 TDs, and has rushed 147 times for 728 yards and 9 touchdowns, as the offense has gone from averaging 266 yards to 342. With the expected exception of a 48-0 beatdown at the hands of Alabama, the Kent State D has done an OK job of keeping the lid on opponents, allowing 26 points per game, and is led by Nick Holley’s twin brother Nate, whose 111 tackles are more than the next two Flashes combined. Kent State has almost no chance of winning this thing, but Nick and Nate Holley are gonna make it interesting.
