Watch Your Shows on Your Time with Sling TV Cloud DVR

Mar 09, 2017 by Ben Weinberger

We have some exciting news today for customers who watch Sling TV on Amazon Fire TVs, Fire TV Sticks and Fire tablets – you can now get 50 hours of Cloud DVR storage for $5 per month with any Sling TV subscription! Many of you have told us that Cloud DVR is a must-have for Sling TV, so beginning today we’re rolling out Cloud DVR “First Look,” a new program for Sling TV customers who use Amazon Fire TVs and Fire tablets, so you don’t have to miss a minute of your favorite show, series, movie or game.

Check out some of the features you can expect from our Cloud DVR:

• Watch anytime, anywhere – Record your favorites and watch whenever you want across all Amazon Fire TVs and Fire tablets, Android mobile devices, Android TVs, Roku streaming players and Roku TVs.
• Conflict-free recording – Record multiple programs simultaneously, and forget about recording conflicts. Cloud DVR functionality not available on all channels.
• Keep recordings as long as you want – With Sling TV, you won’t run in to expirations on your recordings, so you can keep them as long as you have the Cloud DVR.
• Easily manage your recordings – Sling TV will make room for new recordings by deleting your oldest ‘watched’ recording when capacity is full, so you can binge on your new favorite show.

How “First Look” Works

If you watch Sling TV on an Amazon Fire TV or Fire tablet, you’re eligible to sign up for Sling TV’s Cloud DVR “First Look” to get 50 hours of storage for $5 per month. You’ll also get access to new features, like setting recordings on-the- go, as well as future updates, like the ability to record more channels, protect recordings and group recorded series into folders.

So how do you add Cloud DVR to your account? If you created your Sling TV account through Amazon, you can simply add Cloud DVR through the Sling TV app on your Amazon Fire TV or Fire tablet. All other customers who use Amazon Fire TVs or Fire tablets can add Cloud DVR by signing in to their account on sling.com and selecting “Add Cloud DVR.”

Lastly, we know how annoying it is when old TV makes you pay a separate fee for every set top box or device in your house. When you get Cloud DVR through our “First Look” program, $5 per month gets you access to all your recorded content on any of the Cloud DVR-supported devices you use!

If you don’t have an Amazon Fire TV or Fire tablet, don’t worry! We’ll continue to expand Cloud DVR “First Look” to additional customers and devices in the coming months, starting with Apple TV.
