NBC networks now available on new multi-stream service, “Sling Blue”

Jun 30, 2016 by Glenn Eisen

Consumer feedback is how we’ve built Sling TV. And, over the last two months, you’ve spoken and we’ve continued to listen and respond by updating our multi-stream service throughout its beta phase. We added a new device platform, Apple TV, we introduced more features in our new user interface and we launched more than a dozen Viacom channels.

As we exit our beta phase, we’re excited to introduce even more channels, including NBC local broadcast channels (in select markets), USA, Bravo, Syfy, NBC Sports Network and more! With more channels, more devices and more features we decided the time was right to launch and name our new “Sling Blue” service. Sling Blue subscribers can stream more than 40 channels on up to three devices simultaneously, at $25 per month. We’ve also added new NBC channels to a variety of Sling Blue’s “Extra” packs, including E!, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, Golf and NBCUniverso.

You now have more than 100 channels to choose from to customize your ideal Sling TV experience, and we’ve introduced a multi-service discount (see below) where you can save as you add more Sling TV services.

Local NBC: Customers in select markets who subscribe to Sling service can now view live local NBC broadcast content in the following ten markets: Chicago, Dallas, Hartford, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, San Diego and Washington, D.C.

Coming later this summer, if you live outside one of the above markets or travel away from home, you’ll have next-day on-demand access to full-series NBC shows like “American Ninja Warrior,” “Blacklist,” “The Voice,” “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” and “Saturday Night Live.”

NBC Sports: Now, get even more sports like MLB, NFL and NHL from NBC Sports Network. With Sling Blue, you’ll get access to NBC broadcast, regional and national sports included in the $25 per month base price. This means you can catch the Tour De France and the Olympic action, in or out of your home.

NBC Networks: If you can’t get enough of shows like “Mr. Robot,” we’ve also added select NBC networks to Sling Blue. In addition to NBC local and sports content, customers subscribed to Sling Blue will have access to content from USA, Bravo and Syfy.

Extras: For those who want to customize Sling Blue, we’ve added NBCUniversal networks to select add-on packs as well:
“Sports Extra” (New Extra Pack) – Golf joins beIN Sports, Outside TV and Univision Deportes
“Lifestyle Plus Extra” – E!, Oxygen and Vibrant TV join VH1, Cooking Channel, DIY, FYI, WE tv and LMN
“World News Extra” – BBC World News, CNBC and MSNBC join HLN, euronews, France 24, News18, NDTV 24/7 and RT Network
“Best of Spanish TV” – NBCUniverso joins 24 other Spanish and bilingual channels
• All other Extras for Sling Blue remain unchanged
