Content Is King, But Only If You Can Find It

Jun 01, 2015 by Roger Lynch

We launched Sling TV nearly four months ago with only 12 channels, three “add-on” packs and a limited selection of on-demand content. Since then we’ve expanded our offering massively. With the additions of AMC, A&E and others in our $20 a month core pack, we have added more sports, more news and way more on-demand content (thousands and thousands of hours!). We even offer HBO for an additional $15.

From day one, we have been dedicated here at Sling HQ to making our service better tomorrow than it was today. I think we can fairly say we’ve delivered on that. But we’re not finished. With all this content (and, I promise, more is on the way), we need to be sure you can easily find it.

Today we welcome Ben Weinberger to the Sling TV team as our new Chief Product Officer. Simply put, Ben’s day job is to make sure you have a better Sling TV experience. Previously, he co-founded and served as CEO at Digitalsmiths – a company devoted to helping viewers discover personally relevant content across a variety of programming and devices. Ben has a strong track record of delivering a great viewing experience across all the various platforms where Sling TV plays — phones, tablets, TVs and computers.

It’s no secret that the cloud is a miraculous solution for storing any and all content. Making all those movies and shows easy to pull from the cloud when you just want sit back and watch something is the trick. With Ben on board, you can bet there’s more in store for Sling TV.

Thanks for watching.

Roger
